In the last few weeks I've had reason to make trips uptown and boy can I tell you... people plant there.

It's great!!

Some tend modest, one-pot wonders, and some create virtual jungles in their cramped little front yards. This week I came across the later. I have only seen one other urban landscape that rivals 117 E. 78th in lushness; it's on Irving Place, and I'll profile it next week. But this monster is by far the most prim and proper I've seen yet.

Does anyone have a better contender for this year's most Prim and Proper, Heavily Planted NYC Front Yard? Of course, there aren't many front yards to begin with. Maybe I'm starting to have townhouse-envy. I'll have to talk to the Apartment Therapist... skgr
