Dear AT,
Can you do something on cool small toilets for NYC apts? Its very confusing and I'm also concerned about saving water but Consumer Reports hasn't evaluated them since 2002...what is the smallest energy saving toilet out there?
Thanks, Gretchen
Small and water saving seems to be the crux of this question. This is what we have found:
1. Kohler Rialto
2. Best available toilet flushes 1.5 gallons per flush (typical is 3.5) (FEMP)
3. A long essay on small toilets (Askthebuilder.com)
4. Toilets from history and around the world (Bestweb.net)
5. Kohler's # 800.456.4537 for more questions
(Thanks, Gretchen!) MGR

In europe, dual-flush (one low flush, one more substantial) toilets are the norm. My parents recently renovated their bathroom and were unable to find one. They should be widespread. All the benefit of low-flush with a built-in solution to the most common problem.
