Can do anything. We came across Musa Sangare a few years ago through a contractor who recommended him for small jobs.
Musa is a generalist. He can do plumbing, plastering, electrical work and light carpentry. "I can do anything." he will tell you. While we would reserve the fine finish work for someone else, Musa is a great resource for the rough stuff.
Musa doesn't work by the hour, but by the job. He will give you a price on each job when he sees it, and will visit ahead of time for this purpose. MGR

musa just did some electrical work for me. i moved to a new apt and wanted to replace the existing ceiling lights with track lighting. musa came by on a weds night, gave me an estimate and then returned fri evening to do the job. he also replaced a tiny light i had in my bathroom with vanity lighting. musa was great. he was reasonably priced, incredibly professional, did a great job and was very pleasant to work with. i would highly recommend him for projects. i plan on calling him again in a few weeks to have curtain rods installed.
Musa was great, turned up when he said he would, preformed the work (hidding cable wiring, fixing the diswasher door and repairing a large ceiling hole caused by a leak in the roof) and charged a reasonable rate. Even better all this was done with a grin. Would highly recommend.
I had some problems with Musa, although he is a very sweet guy. His abilities with electrics is not up to snuff.
However, I found a really GREAT handyman. His name is Alan Holstein. He is fast, courteous, smart and prompt. In fact, he showed up to my place early. I cannot recommend him enough. His email is alanholst@aol.com and his # is 212-957-8345.
Musa came to look at the shelving system job, told me he would get me a quote, then I never heard from him again. That didn't break my heart, as he told me that he would be cutting all the shelving in the apt! That is insane. It is one thing to have to do some final fitting of the shelving, but to cut all the shelving in the apt would make an enormous mess. I do not think he has a shop to work in and that doesn't bode well for a carpenter. I would not recommend.
I had a Musa that did some odd jobs in my apartment lost touch w/him. Now, I'm looking for him dont know if this is the same one ..he has one hand ..african guy is this the one?
Musa never showed up! but I lucked out and found Surin and he was outstanding he put up french doors for us...fixed some wiring that was hanging out everywhere, put up some shelves and I am definetely calling him back for some other projects in our apartment ..call Surin 347-598-0593 or 347-493-1541 he is very serious and punctual ..
I had problems with Musa, too. While he was a total gentleman, he lacked the skills that I had expected in a handyman/carpenter. Booked him for a light plumbing fix and ended up with a larger leak after his visit. A pal recommended Speedyfixit (aka Saxon Palmer) and I, tentatively called. He was a total find. Fixed leak and a few other repairs at a relatively affordable rate. Website is: www.speedyfixit.com. He's got great reviews and lives up to his title: fast and fixed. That's about it. G
