Our roving reporter just sent in this email, alerting us to the COOK BOOK SALE this afternoon/evening at the Angel Street Thrift Shop.
Angel Street Thrift Shop, the best thrift shop in the city by my estimation, is hosting its long awaited cook book sale this afternoon/evening. Patrick (see my early post on them) has been telling me about it for some time. Should be a good event.
Note: Angel St. has had some exceptional stuff of late. An almost new Crate&Barrel shabby chic sofa for $420. Marc Jacobs red sneakers, new suits for $10, and Dolce&Gabana shirts on the rack. Live on, Chelsea Salvation Armani!! H.
Angel Street is open Monday-Saturday 10-6, Sunday 12-5pm. MGR

I think the City Opera thrift shop on East 23rd is best for price and cool finds...
I agree. Angel Street is the best. So many people focus on Housing Works, nearly across the street on 17th, but Angel Street is much better.
Housing Works is going more and more upmarket and I don't begrudge them. If they can make more for their AIDS work, good for them. Their new fashion event and other things have changed the vibe of the store.
I am very excited for the cookbook event . . .I just can't get out of work that early.
