Dear AT,
I hate my bathroom floor. The room itself is small and oddly shaped, but passable. The floor however is covered in those yucky, speckley-flecked tiles that I think were in the lavatories (!) of my grade school
What can I do? Something in a cut to fit tile (cork, marmoleum) seems like a good idea, but what about installation? I'd like to do it myself, but I have a toddler so consequently not lots of time. What do you think?
xoxo Jennifer
What your describing doesn't sound great, but you don't want to lay something on top of it that looks even worse. We haven't done a lot of this, but for cheap and easy, our recommendation would be to use either:
- Bolon vinyl sisal flooring - buy the length and cut to size
- Flor Tiles - to fill center area OR whole floor by cutting around objects
There is no replacement for having the floor redone (if you own, redo it! Small floors aren't expensive), and water is your enemy, but both of these will cover up, look good and not retain moisture too much. (Thanks, Jennifer!) MGR
