Le Petit Puppy is the best puppy-mill-enabler I've ever been to. The staff steered me toward a $1500 "ChihuaDaDoodle." Fidel's hip dysplasia and kennel cough just add to his loveable cuteness! Too bad his mother will be kept continually pregnant and live a miserable, short existence. But they really ARE the best. Just look at all the gushing suggestions.
I'm so disappointed to read the bad reviews on Le Petit Puppy. I purchased two puppies from there in March of 2007. One is a Boston Terrier and the other is a Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix. They were both very easy to train and well socialized and are very healthy. The other puppies in the store were always being played with by other customers and employees. The salesperson we worked with was very helpful and knowledgable and we were able to also bring home all the puppy supplies we needed right there. I am very happy with the way they have turned out. Nearly every day I think about how lucky I am to have these wonderful dogs because of other people I know whose dogs are just terrible.
I'm stunned that people want to BUY pets. Animal shelters are overflowing with wonderful pets, pets that have been vetted, been given personality evaluations and have been handled with love. I defy any pet store to tell me they've done the same with each of their pets. Their animals have come from puppy mills.

Pets on Lex is one of the worse offenders along with Le Petit Puppy. Nobody should be surprised that their sweet little dog, who they BOUGHT at one of these puppy mill abusers gets sick. If I were living in a small crate with 4-5" of urine soaked feces and rarely fed and never touched I'd get sick.
Think about it people. When the last animal has been adopted from the last animal shelter maybe you consider BUYING a pet from a reputable breeder but under no circumstances should anyone ever BUY a pet from a pet store.
Don't be fooled; every pet store in the city sells dogs that are from puppy mills. The average puppy costs them only $25 from irresponsible breeders that keep the dogs in despicable conditions.
I recently adopted a "designer dog" from the city shelter that is as cute as any dog in a pet store.
Whisker Holistic is definitely on the top. Very reputable, knowledgeable and only sell quality foods, treats, toys, books, and holistic remedies.
Dear animal lovers,
please... do not buy puppies from pet stores!
Let's stop the puppy mills from destroying poor innocent lives.
Go to a shelter and adopt! Like i did. I got the most amazing dog from a shelter.
Save a life.
pets on lex, pets on lex, pets on lex,
this is the worst store for dogs in NY, we bought a puppy on 11/29/09 and when we got home we realized the dog had fleas, she was itching like crazy so we went to riteaid and bought flea shampoo. it worked but the itching continued so we brought her back to pets on lex,the older gentelman who works there denied the dog had fleas and was very unpleasant,he tried to make me feel like i made the whole thing up,why would i do that? the story gets better, we took the dog to the vet and the fecal test came back positive for giardia which is an intestinal parasite and could kill the dog at her age. i called and tried to be nice but both people i spoke to named bob and jack were complete a---holes and answered me discontent with words like"SO" and finally i was told to "DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO" and was hung up on.
Pets On Lex is the worst place ever!! I bought a dog there and they charged my credit card twice!! I ended up deciding to return the dog, who was a completely anxious and very disturbed dog. So I had to go about getting back both chages - totaling over $1500. The owner, I found out later, the old guy, is an EX FREAKING COP!! Anyway, they just completely blew me off for the second charge, they returned my first charge when I returned the dog, but kept dodging me or being outright rude. My boss is very connected, so he called the NY State Attorney General's office where he knew people, and I got my money back that day. Fucking assholes. They told me to talk to my credit card company - they didn't know what second charge I was talking about. THIEVES and GHOULS!
Thetreefallsfreely,I need help pets on lex owes me money. I can not collect it,because I do not have the owners ss # or driver's license #. Or anyone else that can help me this guy is a thief.
I bought my Daschund from Le Petit Puppy 3 years ago, and this dog has some serious fear and anxiety, especially with men. It made me wonder if he came from a puppy mill...I did some googling, and guess what...yup, he did. I'm so angry, obviously he was abused and is now a fearful, anxious dog. Poor baby. Thank God he gets lots of love from me.
Hey all you guys talking about Pets on Lex: Why don't you report them to "Shame Shame Shame" on Fox 5? It'd be a great way to expose these evil people--they are the last ones that should be handling animals from the sound of it.
If you want to adopt a dog, go to a rescue. There are rescues all over the US and they even have "shipment" sent from the West Coast to the East Cost. Please don't adopt from a pet store. I have stopped all together to go to pet stores that offers dogs. But I go to those who have adoption days. Which is how I got my wild girl (a mix of doberman/weiramaner/?).
Also, if you are looking for a natural chew toy, let me know!
