I think insomnia is an important issue, but the graphic is a bit erroneous. First, if you add up the percentages of the bed, you get 113%! Looking closer, you realize that these groups are SUBSETS of each other (or at least appear to be). So, where is the 35% chuck of the bed with the happily snoozing sleeper on it?
My mattress is awful and I still sleep like a babe every night. In fact, the only way I can deal with extreme stress/bad situations is to take a nap and deal with it afterwards. Haha, go me. All you insomniacs are suckers.
And the better sleep guys are paid for whom? The mattress manufacturers, I'd bet.
I'm sure some mattresses need to be replace every 10 years from use/wear, and others because they were *poorly* designed, or designed well to have a short lifetime.
Planned obsolence, it's not in the consumer's favour.
When you think of it, there is no particular reason why a good mattress could last an awful lot longer. This isn't rocket science, it isn't even building a bridge.
A worse industry than used cars, the mattress makers.
