iSew. How many of you wouldn't like to have one of these? This goes along with inventing a better mousetrap.
Seen in Metropolis, Itay Potash, a 26-year old designer from Tel-Aviv, created the Flat Mode Sewing Machine last year and won top honors from the Manufacturer's Association of Israel for his handiwork.

Flat Mode is made of aluminum, stainless steel, plastic and rubber, comes equipped with a Bluetooth foot pedal and can be folded flat and carried in one hand. Itay is working on gettting these mass produced this year. MGR

great bedframe! vintage, yes?
Your dining nook looks very inviting; I love the dining chairs and the birds flying off on the wall.
BUT the true star in these photos is your dog! A-do-ra-ble :)
a dog room, lol
nice home; serene and comfortable feeling
I love that the dog managed to sneak into almost all of the pictures :)
Are the white book cases custom built?
You mention the bathroom twice, but there's no pics of it. :(
Your dog needs his/her own design blog.
Awww..your baby is so adorable! :)
thanks all for voting!
- bedframe - $50 at sunday market. bargained down to $40.
- maplethorpe had a meltdown when i told him he couldn't be in EVERY photo. hence, he ended up in every photo. bossy.
- sorry we couldn't include pics of the bathroom. trust us that it is magical and i invite you to use it any time you'd like!
- a blog for the dog is a very good idea... maplethorpewantsyourvote.com.
Art sources please!! Especially the standing girl in the first pic!
Also, would love to see more pics :) Flickr??
I love this place. And like everyone else, I love your dog (Maplethorpe!!! Adorable!). That's one thing that I've really enjoyed about this contest... not just peeking into other people's creative spaces, but I love seeing their pets, and how often they are such a good fit to the personalities of the homes! :)
So much to love about your place!
- the bookshelves are from ikea! built with love and swearing!
artwork:
- the 'girl with white glove' entry painting is an original i purchased in boston by jeila farzaneh.
- the rest is a mishmash of prints, some originals, and things found on the side of the road, like the puffy paint venice in the living room.
"...the humane society for craft animals." *snicker* Where, exactly, are these jars of cross-stitched jellyfish you speak of? I am having trouble imagining such a thing. :D
Not only do I love your apartment, but I think it's great that the photos are a "Where's Waldo" of your dog! I only wish you had included him/her in the floor plan image.
I love this place and Maplethorpe! Very cool, great use of space. I love the colors! I would like to live here...with Maplethorpe!
can't seem to find jeila farzaneh online ...
Your dog! Sweetest little dog.ever. I love that by the end of the tour he's all pooped out on the bed. Oh yeah - great home, too!
love your apartment! and your dog! adorable. great art too!
La chambre de chien??? I LOVE IT!
You'll probably get some pointed comments about how "dark" the photography is, but even so, the place looks beautiful. Yay Seattle!!
Love the pieces above the bed - source?
i love your dogggie!!
great apt! i particularly love your entry...that large painting of the girl is stunning and i like it next to the collage wall and entry table (well...and maplethorpe puts the pic over the top!).
LOVE seattle. moved from there two years ago and plan on calling it home again one day in the future.
well done.
j.
- the pieces above the bed are rusted barrel ties i found roadside one day. word of advice - large ovals of rust aren't easily packed when moving. tetanus!
- crocheted jellyfish(!!) - http://www.curiosityshoppeonline.com/crjesp.html
I love, love, love this apartment!!! The bird mural/decal in the living room is so lovely and inspiring!
I love that in 650 sq feet your dog gets his own room! How very pampered of him!
I think the coolest part is the sliding door, privacy and room enlarger in one!
what a special special place!
i love it! that dog must be such a treat!
cutest. dog. ever. Love this space so much. another fabulous space with a limited color palette. Very soothing and that dining room is to die for.
Absolutely adorable! (both your apartment and Maplethorpe).
So jealous of your dog! I have an english bulldog myself, but I've been telling my husband for the past couple years that we NEED a frenchie too!
Haha, the dog has its own room. C'est tres magnifique. Bravo!!!
I could live here, but the dog needs his own apartment.;->
I love that when you went looking for a place to put your bust sculpture, you thought "I know! The kitchen! Of course!". Ha ha.
Love maplethorpe, I don't think he realizes he has his own room, he thinks the whole joint is his.
Has any other Small/Cool entry featured a mobile? That got my vote!
I like the linguistic wit of having two busts in the kitchen.
I'm voting for you mainly because you named your dog Maplethorpe...and because you have a great place.
Best bedroom yet. :)
oh brother,,,, lose the dog!
I LOVE this apartment!!! Now you can help me with mine : )
Love the art. The birdies, the hoops, and the mobile are darling!
honey, where did you get the large painting in the foyer? and i love the paint choice in that room with the assembly of paintings. lovely.
never mind, i see my answer posted. you get my vote, darling. so cute!
Great sideboard and dresser! Are those vintage pieces?
You guys have done a great job mixing old and new, and maintained a very pleasant color pallet! Also, I could eat that dog for breakfast!
You've got a great apartment maplethorpe!
Classy, colorful, and comfortable I'd bet!
You must have some creative owners!!
Great job!
- Y.B. ;)
I lived in Seattle for a short while and found it dreary. With a warm inviting place like this to call home, I'd reconsider.
Great job with the space! I love how you've used similar paint on the bedroom and entry walls. That really ties things together nicely.
Where did you get the white entryway table from? Love it...I've been looking for something equally narrow for my teensy foyer area, but have been unable to find something as awesome as this!
I love your place! Especially the art. I love the dark wall with the gallery arrangement at the foyer, and the large pieces in the living room, plus the sculpture in the kitchen and your sculptural use of barrel hoops. Fab!
Also, is the dog room a laundry room as well?
I want that dog! Classy entrance!
The credenza and dresser are midcentury pieces found via craigslist, we got the credenza off a boat! The entry table is from Ikea.
And yes, Maplethorpe does laundry in his bedroom when he has time.
I am pretty sure I know exactly where you live! I think my friend is your neighbor...I recognize the sliding wall and the kitchen. Small world! :)
this sucks - I really want to see the bathroom
Can we swap dogs? Mine never does the laundry when I ask. ;)
This place has so MUCH personality, without being overwhelming. I doubt it will win, since the ones with the most personality rarely do, but it has my vote anyway. :)
new cabinet pulls in the kitchen and increased lighting? Otherwise tre chic!!
