The Pitch:
A couple of years ago, I bought my first apartment. It's a 'cozy' studio... and aside from the bathroom (pink & blue?!?), it's great! It's got a large separate kitchen and two large closets (currently lacking doors) that only a fellow space-deprived New Yorker would love as much as I do.

I really like the way you've warmed it up with color.
I like that you have echoed those white window mouldings around the rest of the apartment...
wow those colors are REALLY rich- I like them. What are they called? They contrast the floor so well.
You get bonus points for drawing your floorplan out too =)
Miya-
I don't remember the exact paint colors, but the red is in the 'brick' family, and I think the other was in the 'suede' family.
I like your choice of wall colors, but I'm a little confused. You show us before pictures of the kitchen and bath, but not after?
I would like to see pics of the kitchen and bathroom.
The colors of the main space area really beautiful though.
I forgot to take a picture of the kitchen. Will try to get one added in the next day.
Sadly, I haven't renovated the bathroom, so aside from a shower curtain, it looks pretty much the same!
I am in love with the hidden nametag in your kitchen! "SAM'S!"
I know I am the resident grouch, but people, put down your toilet lids when photographing your bathrooms. Ugh.
That said, I love the colors you chose in the main room. And I too offer kudos for adding the floorplan. It really helps to make sense of the space.
The space looks comfortable. I think it's livable and the colors are great.
I want to like it, but all I see is the clutter. I have this rule about TV's out in the open. Don't put vases on them! There seems to be the beginning of some kind of travel theme with the trunk and the map in the living area, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere from there. I do like the wall colors, however.
Luv the quick sketch floor plan...
I like the colors, and the map and the bamboo plants in the windows, but I'd rather not have the bed so blatantly out there. Not sure why that bothers me more here than in other ones we've seen.
I love it. Sam's apt. looks just like what I would've done in that amount of space. I like the red paint on the far wall. It draws you eye to the living area and not the sleeping area. That said, the only think I would change is I would get an Inova table bed and put it exactly where the bed is. In the daytime it has seating for 4 and in mohagany would totally go with the rest of your decor. At night, it's a queen sized bed. Where the table is, I'd put a much needed office area.
