Dept. of Decisions. Finally, we're done!
But not quite yet...
Our judges have been emailing since yesterday afternoon asking questions and making sure they get it all right. They are looking at all your voting over the past three weeks and deciding who the top five apartments are in the Small, Cool Contest.
We will have their decisions by 2pm and then begin collating that into the final five. In the event of a tie, we will return to the judges to break it.
Then we begin photographing. Starting tomorrow, our intrepid photoblogger, Lane, will visit all five finalists and do his very best to capture the most flattering portraits he can. Come Monday, we will be releasing the finalists one at a time over three day, so you won't know who they all are until Wednesday. Painful, huh? We hope so. MGR
(In the meantime, we will be showing some entries that didn't make it into the final thirty for various reasons.)

RE the other Patrick, the one with the cool, cool studio in brown with black and white striped bathroom and the great tableaux.
I think he cheated by posting a super-negative comment himself and having everyone come to his defense. I checked the email addresses and they are identical for both the other Patrick and his critic who wrote something quite nasty.
Although he has a great apartment, IMHO if he did this he should be disqualified for trying to stack the odds in his favor. Positive votes for him may have been cast after the negative post.

My most profound apologies. I LOVE your place and you deserve every vote you got. You also did not deserve the criticism. Further, I should have double-checked on the "matching" email addresses before posting. It was wrong of me not to. I hope you will forgive me.
Wow! Political dirty tricks? But by whom? Just like a real election.
Can we please see lots and lots and lots of photos of each apartment, including lofts and bedrooms and other things we may not have seen in the first round?

Given the nature of online voting, I don't think anything can be definitively proven regarding dirty tricks. I certainly wonder about Frank's thread, but if someone stoops to doing that, they are really pathetic. (About the original comment--however, given the volatile natures of AT posters, I also don't think posting a negative post for yourself is necessarily going to work out the way someone might plan. Not that I think Patrick needs to do something like that to get scads of positive comments, anyway.)
