Hello AT,
I'd like to know the best way to clean a clear shower curtain -- looks like bubble wrap.
thanks, Barbara
Dear Barbara, great question. We throw ours in a hot wash every now and then and replace each year or so. Here are some more specific tips from EHow commenters:

Method brand shower spray has been the only thing I've found that is easy and keeps a new vinyl shower curtain looking clean and clear. Unfortunately, those curtains don't last forever and do eventually seem to get sort of frosted looking but this way mine seem to last a lot longer and without a lot of heavy duty cleaning required.
What about those damned liners? I used to just let it sit in bleach. I could be crazy...
We love clear shower curtains, with some fun design. I tend to throw ours into the washer every 2-3 months in hot water with some bleach. Once washed, I hang it back up to drip dry. The creases work themselves out after a few showers. If anyone knows where to find our favorite shower curtain, Turtlefish, please let me know
my favorite shower curtain is a soft frosted vinyl one from gracious home. like libby i use a shower spay after use to keep it clean. i use mrs myers clean day shower spray, but i'm sure any brand will do the trick. however plastic products have a limited life span and have to be replaced from time to time.
I wash it in warm water w/ some bleach and towels. A few shakes to get rid of excess water then I hang it up. Believe it or not I had wone vimyl shower curtain shrink when I washed it in hot water. It's a plastic after all; and heat makes plastic act in funy ways.
Also, vinegar removes soap scum, but bleach is needed to really deal with mold. Or buy new.
I never add soap when I wash the curtain, there is always plenty there already! I too add vinegar, it helps break down the scum and mineral spots (espcially on clear vinyl). I've tried bleach with mixed results (don't like the environmental effects much either). Once the mildew stains are set, it's time for a replacement.
