2005_14_fossil2.jpgIf you are looking for a unique way to finish off your kitchen backsplash or simply want to get your guests talking, Green River Stone Company sells "fossil and stone products" that carry the ghostly images of ancient sea creatures and plants within them.

Slabs can be used for everything from tabletops, to countertops, to straight on murals, but prices are dear at $200-$300 a square foot.

All the fossils come from a 13-acre quarry in Wyoming, and - of course - every slab is different. Green Rive mines 15,000 to 30,000 square feet of stone a year and you can see it in their new New York showroom, Fossil Interior. (Via H&H) MGR
