Though we feel a little slutty doing it, sorta like after a McDonald's binge, we threw down the gauntlet and ordered a mattress from 1.800.Mattress this morning. This week we have our summer share to ourself and have been sleeping so poorly, we needed some relief.
We wanted a new mattress and didn't want to spend big bucks. After a ten minute phone call, a new Sealy Posturpedic (one of our favorites) is on the way and arriving TONIGHT. As we are on Long Island, 10 miles from the nearest town, we consider this a near miracle.
True, we did end up upgrading our purchase on the phone. We told them the brand we liked and that we were looking to spend $300-$500. We ended up spending $472 with tax and free delivery.
1.800.Mattress was super efificient and polite on the phone, offered us a wide range of prices ($200 up) and choices (Tempur-Pedic, Serta, Simmons, Hypnos, King Coil and Nation's Pride) and then said we could test the mattress when it arrived and send it back if we didn't like it. Wow. We would be really interested in other's opinions on this one. MGR

Since so many people seem confused about where to purchase a mattress and many of these comments seem to be
from retailers (Check out the one that talks about "mattress professionals. Wonder who that could be?), why not go to
government sites and let an impartial expert tell you who to
trust?

would recognize a business spreading bed bugs? Do the research at repsonsible government sites and you will see who

Is a great article on getting a great mattress at a great price. No more over-paying.
