Finally! It's about time some of our larger companies got hip to the fact that all their neat products are ending up as toxic landfill.
In what we hope will start a trend, HP and Office Depot announced Tuesday that they would begin collecting and recycling ANY and ALL electronics from any brand and including televisions, cell phones, printers, computers and more (through Labor Day, 2004). While offices will obviously benefit from this, it also provides all of us with old computers and electronics to easily get them out of our homes. The collection points are at all Office Depot stores. MGR

Hello,
I am interested in starting a recycling program at my apartment complex. I am charged with gathering information, such as costs, etc. I have found that there are no services available where I live for apartment pick-up of recyclables. Unfortunate, for there are hundreds of apartments in the area – being home to a large university. What do you suggest to get something like this started in the area? I live in San Marcos, Texas, a relatively small town outside of Austin.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.
