We don't have enough room for a sideboard. So we ain't much help here. Nevertheless, finding a good sideboard that offers storage outside of the kitchen at a reasonable price is a great challenge. Read on and see if you can help...
I'm looking for a nice sideboard. I know that Ikea has some but I'm not into what they offer and I'd like something that would hold up a bit better than Ikea
furniture. Plus, we've used some Ikea bits in the kitchen and I don't want to become an Ikea household. If you have any suggestions on a place to fing a good sideboard I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Scot

If you're not opposed to becoming a Crate & Barrel household, I suggest the Madison buffet as a possibility:

Great scale for the smaller space, nice look for the decent price. Good luck!
White, on White Street between Broadway and Lafayette, used to have a ton of Florence Knoll side boards at reasonable prices
Use a thrift store dresser of your choice. Drawers work as well as cabinets and 6-8 drawers will hold tons
