Just what we have been looking for. This is what Craigslist is all about: a solid wood round dining table and chairs that need a little fixing up for only 5 tens. Tables like this have been in our family our whole life and they are AWESOME. Round is key for small spaces, and the solid top and pedestal construction give you maximum seating. We sanded down our a few years ago and oil it regularly and it is a centerpiece of our kitchen. No silly polyurethane topped veneer ever again. The table alone is worth the price! MGR

I agree about the round table. I have one that my parents picked up for $30 (Canadian) in 1965 (and I thought *that* was a great buy!). They sanded down the top all those years ago and it's been maintained with lemon oil ever since. It's an ideal surface for a dining table. You don't have to fuss about scratches or water marks--everything just kind of rubs out and mellows in. It gets better with age and use. I recently got some knockoff Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chairs to go with it (unusal style combo, I know, but it works) and it looks fantastic!
