It's not exactly Feng Shui, but in New York, you gotta be creative.....
Hi! I'm on the hunt for a contemporary platform bed where the mattress lifts for storage -- any idea where I can get this? Michelle
The best resource we know for this is Flou's storage base solution, but they can be a little pricey. MGR

I recently got my lucca storage from
http://www.furniturehomedelivery.com . Its a simple yet multi functional storage.
I just went to Flou yesterday, they have amazing beds, and many platforms. Be prepared to spend at LEAST $4,000 and possibly up to $7,000 or more on just the bed (no mattress). It is quite expensive. The headboard we wanted was $8k and the bed $5k, so together it was like, $13,000. EACH end table was $1,500!! Crazy. It is a very expensive store, but it has amazing beds, if you have the loot.
Does anyone know of platform storage beds more in the $2,000-$3,500 range? Either I'm finding them too cheapy or astronomically expensive. Thanks! (ps, my designer told me to just draw up what I want and have a carpenter make it).
This is a great platform bed with a very cool spring mechanism that lift the bed up to reveal pretty significant storage. I love it.

I bought this bed and love it!!! I got it from JustMyShopping.com and for me who lives in the city...you know you need to make space when you have little space to work with, LOL!!! Anywho try them out I got great service and a great deal.
I have the Lucca storage bed and I love it. Assembly was difficult but manageable. It's recommended to have at least 2 people or one strong, handy person. But once it's assembled, it looks and functions great. My only complaint is that the headboard is large and difficult to maneuver when moving. Especially since Manhattan apts tend to have narrow hallways and tight corners. I had to have the bed disassembled entirely since I couldn't detach the headboard and keep the rest in tact. If anyone knows of an easier way, please help!! I'm moving yet again...
Two places I have found the hydraulic lift bed:
The Door Store or Overstock they both had the best deals but unfortunately I am not sure about quality. Any one have an experience?
I made this bed with Ikea bookshelves. It doesn't lift up, but it provides lots of storage:

Best value with large space I found is the Lift & Stor storage bed. They sell a DIY kit as well.
