Everyone would love to own a handcrafted piece of furniture. Heck, most of us either already do (and maybe don't know it!), or we're just waiting for our bank accounts to magically fill up with a ton of disposable income. Either way, it's nice to know where the talented craftsman are out there and what they're cooking up in their shops.
Lucky for me, I'm already located in Philadelphia — so Tim Lewis is very close. Tim Lewis is a furniture designer and woodworker as well as a graduate of The University of the Arts. He's studied under some pretty impressive people, so we're not surprised by the quality of his work.
We were pretty taken aback by the detailed woodwork and vibrant colors of the Strap Chairs; Tim's take on old school aluminum lawn chairs. Strap Chair #1 is made from Maple and Strap Chair #2 is made from Walnut. Obviously painstakingly reworked to the point that we keep checking our bank accounts in hopes we can afford the $700-$1,600 price range of his products.
The gem that caught our eye and has been the reason for us visiting the site 10+ times; the AHA Chair. We can think of about 10 different places to put this chair in our house. Maybe an over rationalization for already have composed an email full of purchasing inquiries.
If you aren't in need of a chair, Tim has a handsome coffee table, lighting and fine art available as well.
