For those who don't allow their pets to sleep in bed with them we've come across some rather stylish pet sleeping quarters lately. They're sleek and chic and we're pretty sure it would mean our pet's bed would be far cooler than our own!
Although our pets in the past usually tend to prefer a stinky pile of dirty clothes as a bed, that doesn't mean you don't want to supply them with something more. The problem is, bulky pet beds aren't always attractive for your home. Although several of these are probably a little out of the average household pet-bed budget (if such a thing exists), there are a few on the list that are totally doable! I love the one with the hair pin legs! Too bad my dogs are too big for it!
The fourth one looks like a big Hershey's Kiss! I love the caravan, but spending nearly as much on a dog bed as I do on housing is just INSANE. Same with the Hershey's Kiss doghouse. It's really just outrageous.
Stoopid expensive. Though, perhaps other people's pets are more delicate/deserving than mine. My pets haven't earned this perk...yet...
Love the third one with the plywood! I think it's easily diy-able and customizable for the size of your dog.
My cats hate anything that is actually intended for a cat.
Ok so the last one is simply hilarious. In any case I'm done spending money on pet beds. So far my cat has two beds but still prefers to sleep with me. I tried to banish her to her beds but she whined so much that I felt soooo guilty and have let her sleep with me the last two nights. We'll see how long that lasts.
@Chanmeleon:That's true with BF's cats too. They ignore lasers, catnip, don't play in boxes so much. About the only thing they like is these liners ikea used to sel for making any basket into a cat bed. They love love those.
i covet a Pei Pod for my cats, but at $140 i fear they'll hate it and i'll have an egg-shaped toy box sitting in my livingroom for the next 15 years.
I recently received a Pei Pod to review (okay, well for my cats to review). I LOVE the way it looks and my cats love it too (and they aren't even really big cat-bed people..i mean cats!) http://ihavecat.wordpress.com/2011/02/02/pei-pod-cat-bed-review/
My dog is too big... it's modern bed would take up some serious square footage. I just let her lounge on the carpet wherever.
i like some of these. mostly i just want that dog model. gooo. look at that posing in the fifth picture!
i LOVE the first and second beds!
I bought my dog's bed from a great etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/Pipsqueakandpetunia
Seriously fabulous pet beds. I hate, hate, hate doggy-themed stuff, so I was super happy to find this shop. The cover comes off to wash and the insert is really fluffy.
Before my elderly cat, Geisha, passed away, I got her a cat bed (from PetSmart, as I recall) that heats up -- it's a foam cushion and frame, separately slipcovered in microfiber fabric, with essentially an electric heating pad inside. My younger cat, Widget, quickly claimed it as his own. Geisha was sick and old, though, so I got another one for her. Now that she's gone and we have another cat, Mika, the idea was that Mika would have the extra bed. But Noooo! Widget splits his time between them (and my pillow) so that Mika thinks both are his territory and won't stay in either of them!
Cats!
Wow those are really pricey - I now feel better for coughing up $79 for my kitty's mod lounger from Likekittysville: http://www.etsy.com/shop/likekittysville
I love the first one! Too expensive, but so cute!
Widmerpool is at this moment curled up in the closet on a mangled basket filled with shoes and a dirty fleece jacket.
I could spend the money on more shoes & another jacket & we'd both be happy.
These seem like they are made for the "more money than sense" crowd.
An inexpensive Ikea sheepskin in a wine crate works for my cat, but I think she'd secretly prefer a plain ol' cardboard box...
I would love to find a nice looking crate for a med-large dog that doesn't cost a small fortune. My pup loves having his bed in a large plastic crate, but it's such an eyesore.
