When you're in the "Home Furnishing Capital of the World" is it unusual to run into the World's Largest Chest of Drawers? Built in the 1920's by the High Point Chamber of Commerce (and after a number to tenants since) the building is for sale. What would you do with this unusual space?
The building is in downtown High Point, North Carolina at the corner of North Hamilton and Westwood.

Nomade Express Slee...
paint it high gloss white, right?
Absolutely. And update the hardware.
funny thing is - it used to be a glossy white back in the day and was then "updated" to it's current look.
Ahhh soozie you beat me to it.
Am I missing the windows?
apartment therapy headquarters, no?
I just moved to High Point and this is perhaps its biggest attraction.
thats funny
Furniture Store?
How fun! I think it would be a super fun clothing store! After all, clothing goes in a chest of drawers, right?
I can just imagine what a fun adventure that would be :)
I grew up in that area and there is a large chair someplace around there too.
The chair is in Thomasville - the giant "chest of drawers" is odd since no one occupies it...its the sort of thing you show out of towners but no one's occupied it for at least 6 years now.
Fun fact: it did indeed used to be a cream color, but they updated it to show a wood grain (to emphasize quality workmanship, etc), and also to have some socks hanging out of the drawers since High Point was initially (waaaaaaaaay back when) known for its hosiery mills.
How funny. It reminds me of "The Big Chair" in Anacostia, here in DC. http://anacostia.si.edu/anacostia_history/community_landmarks.htm
OMG - Change the drawer pulls ASAP please!!
and paint it gloss white!!
The first thing I would do would be to find the missing socks and match them, you know, to satisfy my OCD.
i want to see inside.
Add some windows and be like the lady who lived in a shoe! I would love to invite people over to have dinner in my dresser-house.
wow
