We've seen the SteamLight series by lightexture before here on Apartment Therapy. Our first glimpse was in a restaurant setting, but we recently found a gallery of their wonderful light fixtures installed in domestic settings.
We love the texture created by designers Yael Erel and Avner Ben Natan's SteamLight - it's somewhere between a disco ball and a spotlight. Who knew a steamer could be such a beautiful vessel for storing and projecting light? Apparently, lightexture, that's who.

The one in the bathroom could be a good nightlight for guest or small children (especially if on a dimmer).
Huh, these aren't actually that expensive. But I bet someone could pull off a cheaper DIY one.
It's a colander over a bulb. Seems like an easy enough DIY project.
