Remember the tour of Oliver's Crafty Crib? It was filled with creative DIY touches (no wonder, his mom is Parents Magazine Lifestyle Director Amanda Kingloff) and one of my favorites was the window shade. Window coverings are one of those things I've always wanted to make but never had the guts to attempt, but since Amanda shared her instructions for this one I'm back on the DIY bandwagon.
The idea is a simple panel curtain using the fabric of your choice (she chose IKEA's Annamoa). The clever part is that the curtain panel can be raised by using suspenders and buttons. It's a whimsical look for a kid's space that even a novice can accomplish.

White Enamel Flatwa...
In case anyone else is wondering about that lovely wallpaper...
http://www.shop.finelittleday.com/wallpapers/ (there is another great one with ships)
I made these for our playroom and while I like how they look, both pulled up and put down, they are a pain in the neck to raise on a daily basis (we have 5 windows!)!
Where can the instructions for them be found?
