Shaw's Original Fir...
...and so many more on craigslist.
your links are screwy, and you don't have anything listed for image #4.
Thanks to craigslist, I scored a danish modern draw-leaf table and four chairs in great shape for under $500. It pleases me to imagine the family dinners that have taken place around my table and to carry it forward into the future.
How about suggesting second hand? You can find an entire dining set at estate sales for less than $500. Buying second-hand vintage is the best form of "green" buying. Most vintage tables are of higher quality than those that are manufactured today.
I <3 West Elm. I also <3 outdoor dining room.
where is #4? Thats the one I want, anyone have info on it?
Ikea's Bjursta series tables are also nice, with their concealed leaves. I got the 36" square one in black. Solid, heavy, and a bit more challenging to put together that their usual tables. I'm going to get another one for a desk.
this post couldn't have been more timely. i literally just came on to search for dining tables! i had been considering the bjursta, but now i think i'll look into the svalbo. thanks!
I'm working to have the glitches fixed. It should say that the third table is by Etsy seller Blue Ridge Woodworking and the fourth is West Elm's Dover dining table. As for Craiglist, yes, it can be a great resource. Finding something can be just luck of the draw, though, and you might want to have other ready options.
yeah WHERE is #4?? that's the most interesting one!!
I've got the Bjursta too. I've had it for about five years. LOVE IT. Solid, heavy, expensive-looking. I lucked out by getting the oak finish that I think they've discontinued. The other colors don't look quite as nice.
Saw the dining table I plan to get at the thrift store today for $50. Just sayin'...
Re: Craigslist, I found my dining set that way. But it took literally months on end of scouring through ads of "country-style" tables to find something I actually wanted to purchase. It's nice to know what other options are available that might be within budget.
Thanks, Kim, for this post. That solid walnut table on Etsy is beautiful!
I just purchased #4 from West Elm. I can't wait to get it tomorrow!!! It is AMAZING!
Will cb2 twist bistro table make a good dining table. I am thinking of getting this but not sure if it will fit as a dining table. The name says bistro table and the finish is rustic like patio furniture. What do you guys think abt this as a dining table??
I bought a walnut dining table from Etsy seller Hedgehouse (not the exact table pictured above, but similar). I love it. They make your table after you order it, and the craftsmanship is beautiful.
