They say that once a coffee lover starts drinking espresso, it's hard to drink anything but. This can be true, especially if you tend to rely on that energy jolt while working throughout the day. Then again, making the right espresso isn't always easy, that is, unless you've got the right machine for the job.
These new espresso machines are more for commercial applications, but then again, wouldn't you want to have one of these in your home? Some of the better espresso machines can easily cost between $500-800. It wouldn't be a stretch to find a commercial espresso machine that a coffee shop is trying to sell for about that kind of money.
Needless to say, that they look amazing. The Speedster from Kees Van Der Westen looks particularly fetching in chrome. The Van Der Westen machines are said to be the best espresso machines in the world. La Marzocco also makes some mean espresso machines. The Mistral was also designed by Van Der Westen. These machines are also quite pricey.
All in all, they look amazing, but as you might already know, a simple French press that you can buy for about $20 also makes great espresso. Granted, it's not as fast and you won't be able to get that frothy milk and you won't be getting a lot of pressure out of it, but hey, it still does the job well.
