Here are 10 Great Kitchens from Apartment Therapy New York that make the most of small city apartments, revel in the expanse of a converted factory, or bring up to date a country retreat. Take a look after the jump:
Some kitchens are within the same small Manhattan neighborhood, yet appear to be from drastically varied places and times. But that's the beauty of NYC living, isn't it? Others are a short drive from the city and yet others are clear across the Atlantic.

I LOVE the kitchen in the first pic! It's adorable!
Wow #4 is a stretch. It's a NY kitchen but no where near "great."
re:#3 -- that huge kitchen is in New York City???????
love Nellie's New/Old (5) and the Fantastic Kitchen (9).

I really appreciate the fact that AT did not just show blinged-out kitchens. All these showed lived-in and loved space.
#4, Fire code, seems that you shouldn't be cooking under those beams without a hood. Is there a hood I don't see. Over time grease could build up and then one saute goes badly, quick fire
Really only impressed with #1, and even then it's mostly "Damn, I want that potrack" and a deep love of plants in windows.
Great Kitchens! I am in NJ about 20 miles outside of NYC and I am in the middle of a complete kitchen renovation. I am not sure if it appropriate to post my blog here, but I have been documenting the process. It is such an exciting process and stressful at the same time.
Really liked kitchen number one, but here's the problem: no way is my kitchen EVER going to look that way (old cabinets, can't change the structure as per the landlord). But I agree with lemonader: love the potrack and plants. Oh ... to dream ...
I'd really love to see some truly tiny NYC kitchens. I can use all the inspiration I can get to adjust to tiny apartment living! These kitchens are beautiful, but BIG!
Are these big kitchens in NYC? Even million dollar apartments do not have kitchens that big.
The 3rd one happens to be my kitchen. It's located in Hoboken and the square footage of the entire house is 1150 so it's actually not super big. You can see more about the kitchen on Cattywompus: http://mowerymarsh.blogspot.com/2010/02/apartment-therapy-kitchen.html and on AT's House Tour: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/house-tours/karens-urban-cottage-house-tour-100820
kitchen 5 represents new york in terms of renos and using small spaces ever so wisely (the BEST use of space i may have seen on here aside from the 300 sq ft one with fam of three). but the stove in 7...wish i had it.
shelves in 6--every time i see them, it seems to work...nearly everywhere if you incorporate a tad of modern something-or-other. one of the best/easiest/cost-effective dyi shelving units out there i think...
