A bit off topic. I have a house in Fort Green Brooklyn and I am looking for an installer who is GOOD, RELIABLE AND ECONOMIC. Has his own tools who is not part of ServiceMagic, Angie's List or some high end Manhattan store out to screw me on price. I have had a helluva time finding a local guy who still does this stuff. If anyone out there in the AT universe knows someone then let me know. Thanks.
What a unique sink! Does anyone know where to find it?
Here's a shout-out to wonderful Fireclay Tile in San Jose, California! It's especially worth a look if you're interested in recycled materials and sustainable manufacturing practices.
@1greatkid
I think if you take economic out of the equation, you may be able to find someone. Being in the tri state area sure makes it hard to find good cheap labor.
I'm surprised Artistic Tile is not on this list.
saltillo-tiles.com Sarah Richardson's source. In the US, they're in Indianapolis, but mailed samples of two tiles I saw on her show before I ordered/shamelessly copied SR.
I've had good luck with Susan Jablon Mosaics, ordered directly from her website. Jablon can provide practically any type of glass mosaic — hundreds of colors of clear and matte; recycled bottle glass; milk glass; dichroic, iridescent and glitter glass, as well as mirror and stainless steel tiles. No shipping on orders over $99 and her website has a large clearance section.
I first saw her work on HGTV; it has also been featured on here on Apartment Therapy as well as DIY Network, Trading Spaces, Hell's Kitchen, the Houzz website, etc.

I've found a few really unique, and affordable mosaics at
Www.mosaictilestone.com
My favorite- "hex appeal"- a 5inch floor hexagon.
Yes! A few years ago I replaced crappy, worn-out lino in my bathroom with tile (partially recycled materials, I think it was called "Debris). Worth every penny. I used to hate my bathroom, now I love it.
Meant to say that I ordered the Debris tile from Fireclay.
I can attest to Walk on Tile. They're awesome. I ended up going with European Artstone in North Hollywood for my floor tile, back splash tile and counters.
A little more about it here... http://bit.ly/X6VTAt
Edin Markovic did tile for me in my Midwood apartment, bathroom and kitchen. 718-258-7568. Turned out great.
I love that sink! I found the original photo (http://www.thekitchn.com/haleighs-charming-paris-kitchen-kitchen-tour-173419), but no hint of a source. :(
http://www.tile-stones.com They have a lot of awesome porcelain tiles that look like wood. They carry a huge variety of all types of tile and always have the lowest prices. If they don't, ask to talk to the sales guy and he'll give you a deal. Got my living room re-tiled and couldn't be happier :)
Actually, Ann Sacks' corporate offices are in Portland, OR. Their parent company, Kohler is headquarted in Kohler, WI.
Hacienda Design Studio is a great new company with modern cement eco-friendly tiles. great patterns and beautiful colors !

Ditto on the Ann Sacks correction. Portlanders are also proud of Pratt & Larson Tile Mfg, located in inner SE Portland. http://www.prattandlarson.com/
Metolius Ridge Tiles http://www.metoliusridgetile.com/ from Eugene, Oregon is another source of beautiful tiles that look like old encaustic patterns.
The KOHLER Store is a really great option for high end tile too! It's the same look as Ann Sacks without her price tag!
Can someone give me an idea on how to change the grout color of my subway tile backsplash? It is grey and I want white, is there a way I can do it easily on my own? Thanks.
Cool sink and the taps really set it off.
Must add our studio to list, we offer fantastic Made in USA tile http://www.filmoreclark.com/
