This summer, instead of escaping from your city and your home, find some inspiration from folks who have figured out that the idea of a home that's mobile can be quite a lovely thing. Defined differently by different personalities, there's one thing all these homes have in common: they're on the move!

Okay, we admit some of these homes, while housed in a container that could potentially be mobile, don't actually do a lot of moving. But others do. Some of these are just concepts not yet in practice. Others are ideas for moving just one type of room (say, a kitchen). They all inspire us to live a little smaller and less cluttered though, and remind us that home doesn't have to be something that stays in one place. So if you've been thinking about setting off on the road this summer not just to escape a stressful lifestyle, but to escape a stationary house, consider the ideas and inspiration from these 10 homes:

Top Row:
1) Matthew Hofman's Airstream Renovation
2) Modern Camper: DESEO
3) Compact Living: The Mobile Mini House
4) Cynthia's Austin RV Lifestyle
5) Old Mac Daddy Airstream Trailer Park

Bottom Row:
6) Living Large in an Airstream Trailer
7) Mr. Liu's Mobile Feng Shui Living Cube
8) Cricket Trailer by Garrett Finney
9) $1200 Travel Trailer Renovation
10) A Portable Kitchen Roundup
