After you've said your sweet good-byes to college, many of us swear off school forever. Though that doesn't mean there aren't a few classes we'd still like to take. Instead of gifting stuff and things this season, further someone's education and send them to a cool class instead. Here are 10 ideas to consider.
Although getting a cool reupholstered chair made from all natural materials would be awesome as a holiday gift, I'd much rather be given the gift of knowing how to do it myself. What's the old saying... feed a man a fish and he'll be fed for a day, but teach him to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime? That's how we feel about many of the items on the list below. They make amazing gifts and don't be afraid to sign up for a class with them as well! Here's a few suggestions.
1. Upholstery
2. Sewing/Quilting
3. Screen Printing
4. Welding
5. Wood Working
6. Glass Blowing
7. Cake Decorating
8. Cooking
9. Cheese making
10. Flower Arranging
If you check in with most local community colleges there will be basic classes offered in life skills. Sewing, construction skills and even artisan classes like throwing pottery. Don't forget to check with your local craft stores and even specific artisans (like bakers and chefs) that might offer private classes as well.

I would love it if someone decided to give me one of those gifts!
mee too!
I love this idea! My family knows I don't need any more wineglasses/scented candles/bath beads, so I will be sending this link to all of them!
I've done this before, and I have received a silver jewelry fabrication class before. Some of the best, most appreciated presents ever.
Last year, my boyfriend and I took bowling lessons for his birthday and had a great time. Glass blowing is an even better idea! Definitely going to start planning that for the next birthday!
I'm surprised pottery classes didn't make the list, that's one thing I'd really like to try sometime.
