Getting to play with knives might be half the fun of cooking (the other half is eating). And while you're working on your knife skills, you might as well have something cool to look at. Check out this collection of 10 awesome knife sets, blocks, and holders to fit any kitchen.

Shaw's Original Fir...
That bull is awesome...but $540??!! Seriously??!!...its not that awesome!
SUZY8TRACK, how can you say that? Did you read it all the way through?
A CHEESE board in his BUTT. You can't put a price on that, now can you?
I NEED The Ex Knife Set!!!
@SPLOMO...you cracked me up with that comment!
The butt cheese board really is a major selling point....
i mean...if i had $540 lying around....
my mouth dropped when i saw the $540...very cute idea though...
LOVE the bull. Maybe we can roll the price into our mortgage...? ;-)
The second one looks like a roulette wheel - not such a fan. I guess if you're into the casino theme?
What I really like about the bull is not that it is a bull, but that it holds both knives AND cookbooks. I can't say I've seen that elsewhere. Anyone seen anything else that does both?
I love the bull, so much that I'm trying to figure how I can free up $500 for something that just sits there. It's expensive, but at least it's original and labor intensive to produce. Hell of a lot more worth it than that $1300 kindergarden project posted earlier!
I love the Joseph and Joseph cutting board and knife set! Really great for a small kitchen space http://www.josephjoseph.com/plastic-chopping-boards/index-plus
I have the Fiesta knives in Scarlet, and I love them!
I am so in love with those Schmidt Brothers knives... They've been in every West Elm catalog since around Christmas, and they are driving me to distraction with their loveliness!
The bull is as clever as hell, both in concept and execution. If it weren't for the horrendous price I'd totally buy one.
For those of you admiring the ultra cool bull with mouths agape at the $540 price (but contemplating the splurge for a split second), I've got some bad news. Click on the link, and you'll find the $540 price is in AUD, it's actually $593.80 US. PLUS, you have to pay $197.93 to ship it from Australia, bringing the total cost up to $791.73.
I'm so pissed the bull is $540! I love the idea of combining cook book and knife storage. An affordable option would be MUCH appreciated!
I love the bull, but he looks set committed. I hate my current knife block because he came with a set of knives that turned out to be awful, and now that I'm replaceing them with knives I like (the pure Komachi knives actually, they are really awesome for being so cheap. razor sharp.) they don't really fit the block.
I've heard that the Ex knife block, while being aesthetically awesome contains pretty lousy knives and the design makes it hard to replace them with better ones.
Well it seems we've identified a niche market for some entrepreneur who can make a bull like that for under $200. Seriously, someone get on that. It doesn't even have to be a bull, but the bookshelf and butt board are non-negotiable. I think a pig would be fantastic.
Bonjourmiette -that's very true with the Ex knives; I have the set and don't use them often, but they were a gift and made me laugh...we have another set of good knives SO I just keep the Ex set around as 'decor'.
Bodum has this one that looks pretty cool, and gets good reviews. I thought this one for steak knives was pretty funny.
Love that "five finger" one, Food Lover!
I have one similar to that Bodum one, I got it at Crate and Barrel a few months ago and am just so pleased with it: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/kitchen-and-food/knife-storage/universal-bamboo-knife-block/s511105
FOOD LOVER NOT FIGHTER the five finger fillet steak set reminded me of the scene in Aliens when 'Bishop' shows the crew the knife and hand trick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suA2Hy-0mxI
Yes on the bull if it wasn't for the cost.
Don't and never have cared for the human image with knife stabs. Maybe I'm getting old, but even as I joke it wouldn't think it was funny. Just the whole violence thing.
sorry for the sorry language...but even as a joke, I would'nt think this was funny...
wow all are cool knife holder. I will would like to get Sunburst Knife Block
