While I'm a big fan of gallery walls, for variety's sake I've been looking for two big prints to hang over my couch. Large prints can make a big impact, and they don't have to cost a fortune.
Whether you're looking for something that's almost as tall as you are or just a print that's a step up from an 8x10, here are some reasonably priced options.
TOP ROW:
1. Constellations of the Northern Hemisphere star chart by I Screen You Screen, $54
2. Rooster by Jennifer Davis via Poster Cabaret (11x14), $50
3. London by Laura Amiss (A3), $34.81
4. Salt Water Cure by Tina Cresp for Society 6 (17 x 20), $60
5. Moon print by AGC916 (24 x 28), $48
BOTTOM ROW:
6. Roald Dahl print by Kensie Kate (24 x 36), $35
7. California Gold No. 5 - Hawk by Lab Partners via Poster Cabaret (18 x 24), $30
8. Mountain Fog Poster by Debbie Carlos (36 x 48), $50
9. Composition Fond Bleu by Matisse via Art.com (23.5" x 31.5"), $29.99
10. Baby Camel No. 2 by Sharon Montrose for 20x200 (11 x 14), $60

these are all lovely! I would also like to suggest that AT users check out Monkey Head Press in Portland. I just ordered the Peacock Print. 25x19 for $35! http://marcgirouard.com/
So good. Also love this amazing Alec Soth poster: http://shop.nothingmajor.com/products/foam-party-poster-by-alec-soth
What would be a good source for framing? My local shops are charging an arm and a leg!
Hi MIKEINHAWAII..
I feel your pain. I have a gallery wall and it was getting really expensive to frame all the prints I purchased through out the years.
Most recently, I scoured Craig's List and if I found a frame that was the right size, I would purchased it then bring it home and SPRAY PAINT it the color I wanted. For some of the odd shaped prints, I purchased a bit larger frame and used fabric as backing instead of matting. Way cheaper and a much more unique look. Best of luck..
the only really inexpensive way to find large frames is thrift stores. I've gotten very nice ones for 10-30 dollars but it's very hit or miss.
I recently purchased two frames on etsy. They both came with glass and mats. While not inexpensive, both were about 25% the cost of my most recent custom frame job from a local frame shop and both are quality hand made with recycled materials.
i felt the same way when i was decorating my daughter’s room, i wanted BIG, not a bunch of littles. so, i created some posters of my own! i made them to fit right into an ikea “ribba” frame so it was easy and affordable. you might like them too :)

Michael's has a decent range of larger sizes and when you use their coupons they can be pretty affordable. We just framed five prints for about $80 including matting.
IKEA is a great source for cheap, standard sized frames. If you're not near an IKEA, or have something odd-sized Michaels sells frames in sections--pick your length, pick your width, have your hardware store cut some glass to size, do some super-basic assembly and Ta-Da! Michaels also has a good selection of standard frames as well; they're often on sale and if not they ALWAYS have 40-50% coupons. Don't be fooled by their 60% off custom framing coupons though--it's still stupid expensive (what they wanted to charge me $150 for--after coupon--I was able to do for around $30 with the frame sections + glass).
what if your posters are a little creased or wrinkled? any recommendations for this with any DIY project?
Thanks so much for the link!
