2 Good color tips: When I was picking a golden, worn feeling yellow for my hallway I grabbed every paint chip I thought could ever possible be the right color. I taped them on the wall in the hallway and everytime I walked by at different times of the day if I saw one I didn't like I pulled it off. Finally I was left with the last chip and it turned out to be the perfect color. I think all rooms that are seen from other rooms must not clash with each other but be harmonious. For example from my living room couch I can see into the hallway, the dining room, and the kitchen. All four of those colors have to work together. When I pick colors for the next room I always hold the sample in the other rooms to make sure I like how the colors flow together.
Favorite type and brand of paint: I like flat paint on walls even though I know it will scuff easily. You can't match the look and elegance of a matte wall. I like Benjamin Moore because they have a contractors grade at almost half price, they remember you and can sometimes help you when you are on your 3rd paint color of pink, and you can't beat the color selection.
