If you haven't quite decked your dining room out the way you've dreamed or if you just feel like it's not quite ready for guests, we present a collection of some quite lovely spaces in recent Apartment Therapy house tours. "Modern" is a bit hard to define; it means a lot to different people. For this post we're using it to refer to refreshing, open, airy-feeling dining spaces. Spaces with minimal furnishings and color palettes that equally relax and invigorate. These are the kind of spaces that will allow the people — and the food — to take center stage, and hopefully keep the host calm and centered.

Nomade Express Slee...
These are pretty lackluster minus Sabrina's...
Yawn. MCM is becoming a boring cliche. Come on people do something interesting, something with personality, something that isn't bland, mass produced, synthetic and/or plastic.
Whenever someone writes that MCM sucks, I like to imagine their house filled with over-stuffed floral furniture and oak 'n brass.
These are light, easily-movable dining spaces. I like the last one in particular.
I don't have a dining room, but if I did I would gladly take any of the first 5 pictured here! They look like you can truly relax and enjoy a meal in them. (I also love #7 and #9.) I like the open clean airy feel.
