Designer & author Todd Oldham shared his summer style with us:
The Color of Summer 2012:
Bright olive green mixed with turquoise.
All Time #1 Vacation Location:
St. John, Virgin Islands. Still an underpopulated heaven on Earth.
Hotel You'd Love to Escape To:
Caneel Bay, St. John.
Most Prized Souvenir from Your Travels:
My beloved Jack Russell, Ann, who I met on a trip to California.
Planted in the Garden this Year:
I planted the usual mix of heirloom tomatoes and lettuces, but the most unusual planting was a multi-coloured Mexican corn that my parents found in New Mexico. The seeds had been rescued from a job site and found sealed in hundred year-old Indian terra cotta pots. After hundreds of years underground, the seeds have taken beautifully and are now 5-foot tall plants.
Favorite Patio in the World:
The floating dining table arbor at Grey Towers in Milford, PA, absolutely stunning.
Must Have Item for Summer Entertaining:
Good music and good friends.
Most Refreshing Summertime Drink:
Blueberry lemonade put through the carbonator!
Essential Song for Your Party Playlist:
Anything by Astrud Gilberto, you could hear her at the supermarket and be instantly transported.
Best Book in the Beachbag:
The Portable Dorothy Parker.
Thanks, Todd!

Totally not the point of the post, but I can never get over how gosh darn adorable Mr. Oldham is!
Reading this while on vacation in St John. I agree!
Caneel Bay is indeed lovely. Gallows Point, right outside Cruz Bay, is great as well.
He does look great.
He's so awesome.
The beard/jeans/t-shirt look really suits him. he looks awesome and happy.
Todd has always been an amazing down to earth designer, artist and person.
great to see him! @messietessie, i bet that's a tattoo, judging from the color and the fact that you can see his others.
Yay! He introduced my favorite movie (Auntie Mame) at the TCM Classic Film Festival this year...it was my favorite experience at the movies everrr.
Wow, you cannot tell that he is in his 50's, even with the beard (which is tres chic btw!). The corn seeds are amazing! You have an antique plant :)
Talby, I agree. He has always been a major crush of mine, I remember the days of him giving styling tips on MTV on the weekends. Even as a kid, he always struck me as super clever.
I adore his Handmade Modern book, too.
Todd Oldham perfume is my all-time favorite. I'd love the man for that contribution to my life, if nothing else. And carbonated blueberry lemonade? I'm off to the kitchen.
He's in his 50s?! Lookin' foxy, Mr. Oldham!
Yeah. I'm with crazylady: foxy.
I think the beard looks great! I'm biased, however. My (27 year old) husband has one, except his is waaay longer.
He looks just the same...same great smile and crinkly eyes...as 25 years ago when he was on one of the first shows on HGTV. Love, love, loved his DIY stuff.
I totally didn't recognize him with the beard. I first thought it was Daniel Craig.
