Sure you could go with a diminutive, wall flower-esque side table that won't do much more than just serve its function of holding drinks or remotes, but you could also go full throttle and pick out a side table that packs a mean punch of personality, color, boldness and excitement. If anything, going a little wild is easier with a small side table because its size helps keep any bold colors or patterns from taking over the room too much. And don't think that the side of a couch or chair is the only place you can incorporate a sassy side table; use them as nightstands, entryway tables, storage in bathrooms and more! There are tons of options out there and we've rounded up ten we've spotted recently that have stopped us in our tracks:
Top Row
1) RAD Furniture Two Drop Stools $350 per pair
2) And Then Design Lean Man Side Table
3) Conran Blue Spillikins Table $85
4) CB2 Knead It Side Table $200
5) Crate&Barrel Braiden Side Table $200
Bottom Row
6) Room & Board Slim Round End Table $219
7) CB2 Twist Side Tables $39.95 set of two
8) Blu Dot Pi Side Table $299 – $349
9) Crate&Barrel Ginger Blue Side Table $299
10) Finnish Design Shop Mr Gardner Cocktail Table $235

I LOVE the 9th one, but $299 for a side table? That's just absurd.
I'm with you Katy T. LOVE that table (especially in white) but I can't justify spending that much on an accent piece.
I've actually been contemplating the green and yellow pair from CB2! They're cute, but I don't think they'll look right with my red couch.. :(
I love AT, but man, they NEVER showcase items in my incredibly measly budget. I think it would offend my sensibilities to even CONSIDER paying $300 for a dinky piece of furniture.
I would rather DIY something bold and graphic, scavenge thrift stores and flea markets, or scour CL for finds. Much more impressive (and unique!) than dropping ridiculous amounts of money for furniture you can buy in a chain store.
If the dog comes with it, I'll pay anything.
The Ikea PS SANDSKÄR looks similar enough to #10 that I couldn't justify spending an extra $200.
#3 on sale for $42.50
i hear you on pricing, however i think it's sometimes worth paying for handmade furniture, esp if it's unique. really like these foundation tables that were at icff recently... http://goo.gl/m4GBS
I used an Ikea step stool :)
