Belgium, Family with Kids (and a Cat!)
A while back we took a look at Apartment Bathrooms from Around the World which was fun to put together, but is was not necessarily a group of "style conscious" rooms. We decided to go for another 'round the world type post, but this time, go for a geographically varied group of rooms that all show an eye for design. Enjoy!
We dove into Normal Room this afternoon and were not disappointed with what we found - we're always amazed at all the countries represented on the site.
Indonesia, Couple
USA, Single person
Singapore, Couple
Mexico, Family with kids
Hungary, Couple
Italy, Couple
Netherlands, Couple
Lithuania, Couple
Finland, Couple
All photos found on Normal Room, a site where people from across the globe post photos of their own "normal" rooms - endlessly interesting!

I love Lithuania and Hungary. Very different rooms but... maybe it's the paper globe lamp? Maybe it's that they don't look quite so perfect.
I love the Lithuanian room -- cozy, warm, very real.
The Indonesian house looks so cool . . . and I love the painting in the Mexican room.
But for me . . . Finland is the clear winner!
Lithuanian all the way!! The paint in the Mexican room is so wonderful however!
Finland!
apart from Belgium and Lithuania, most of these rooms look pretty sterile and generic.
I love the arrangement of glass shelves in the USA room -- I have used those brackets before but I never thought of that approach, and it's really elegant!
Lithuania, but I'm not that impressed with any of them.
Interesting site. Kind of fun.
Lithuania hands down. It has warmth, an exotic ethnic touch and the placing of it all along with the lighting makes it romantic in a foreign kind of way. It reminds me of old New York apartments with their old floors and steam heating radiators. The curtains are stunning and show their elegance against the night.
Love it!
yeah! finally, some lithuanian love!
Stylish. Are you kidding me??? These rooms are awful!
OMG... I've lost SO many hours browsing "normal room"
Wow, Finland does it for me!
my faves would be Finland and Belgium :)
