The thermapen is expensive but worth every penny. It was a well-appreciated gift, and my husband uses it at least once a week. Expensive, yes, but the temp read is almost instantaneous and perfectly accurate. A great buy!
I agree on the thermapen. Spring for the case too, otherwise you end up keeping it loose in a drawer and I feel strange about that with such a pricey item.

I hate that I can't get one of the soda machines here in Hawaii because the CO2 canisters cannot be shipped here.
I actually prefer the front loading dehydrators to the stack, circular dehydrators.
