Etsy is a wonderful place to buy all sorts of items from kitchen cabinets to vintage toys. We have featured several roundups that source gifts and tech for the home from Etsy and we thought it was high time we brought together the ten different types of tech things that we find the site is a perfect source for. Read on and discover what ten types of things we love buying from Etsy...

Sure you can find lots and lots of stuff on the site, but here are the ten things we are usually looking for when we peruse the trove that is Etsy:
1. Vintage Cameras: In addition to flea markets and eBay, Etsy is our primary source for buying vintage cameras like this one from Carpebellus. There is almost always a great selection to be found there and we have not found any sellers to be dishonest about the working condition of the cameras.
2. Small Device Cases: Whether we are looking for a case for our eReader, tablet, or phone, Etsy is our go-to source for handmade creative cases. Etsy is also a fantastic place to go for geekery like this Dr Who phone case by Bowlerhatbudge.
3. Clocks: For handmade and vintage clocks, the selection on Etsy is second to none. Whether you are interested in a clock made from an old hard drive or magnetic tape like this one by Pixelthis, chances are Etsy has it.
4. Desks: In addition to being a great source for vintage desks, Etsy also has quite the trove of handmade furniture. We're currently trying to figure out just how we can make this yellow Mid-Century inspired beauty from TheWickedWorkshop fit in our tiny apartment.
5. Flash Drives: After the numerous roundups that you've seen on our site that source flash drives from Etsy, you know that it is our top place to go when we want a unique drive. Everything from Steampunk inspired to LEGO drives lives on Etsy and we wonder if this one, that looks like a bar of chocolate from TheBoarUpstairs would make us crave chocolate throughout the work day.
6. Wooden Accessories: Etsy is one place online that we know we are sure to find a wide variety of quality handmade wooden accessories. This stand created for the iPad from HardWoodShop is no exception and is made from Lacewood.
7. Laptop Decals: Sure there are lots of places to buy laptop decals online, but the selection on Etsy is more than fierce. When we spotted this Cookie Monster decal from Stikrz we could not resist a chuckle.
8. Geeky Soft Goods: We can think of no better place to find a great array of handmade geeky pillows and throws than Etsy. Whether you are in the mood for a pillow to celebrate the floppy drive like this one from Freakyfleece, or a Tetris inspired quilt, it's all there on Etsy.
9. Laptop Bags: While there is certainly no shortage of places to buy laptop bags online, Etsy is a great place to find a large variety of unique handmade bags from clever designers from all over the world. The bright red color and the fun styling around the handles are what caught our eyes when we spied this bag from Delikates of Romania.
10. Handmade Designer Tech: Speaking of designers, Etsy is one of the places where we go when we want to buy unique handmade luxurious tech, like this gorgeous fan by SZOSTAK which will run one a cool $7,800.

I love buying art on Etsy. Shopping Etsy inspired me to open my own shop. In fact this evening I just bought a print from Coco de Paris.

I'm surprised you didn't mention more of Etsy's vintage shops! There's so much fabulous stuff:
For vintage Scandinavian: http://www.etsy.com/shop/bitofbutter
For vintage graphic design: http://www.etsy.com/shop/NewDocuments
Definitely art prints/calendars make the list for me! So much of the color in my apartment comes from illustrations from Etsy. An addiction, for sure. One of my recent favorites is http://www.etsy.com/Gingiber and I don't know how anyone could resist Rob Ryan's masterpieces (http://www.etsy.com/shop/misterrob). Incredible.
So many creative people out there! I love the thought of buying directly from the creators of such great products.
bracelets! I buy those in fact I have some on the way from Thailand.
I am both a seller and a buyer on Etsy. I have bought new/vintage supplies for the jewelry I sell, and then loads of stuff as gifts for friends & family (or myself of course)! Most recently, I bought a lamp constructed out a vintage map of Spain (http://www.etsy.com/shop/5ftinf) for my sister who spent her honeymoon there. Speaking of that, Etsy is great for weddings too - from flowers to invitations to dresses and more!

Etsy is definitely awesome! But can be very much overwhelming to search through :/ I will definitely make sure to find some cool camera gear here though since I am a newbie photographer :) I did find a pretty cool list that updates often of "Hidden Gem" Etsy Shops. I'll have to start up a list like this one of my own favorite shops soon :)
I love etsy too but like Sandy I find it so difficult to search through and find the same people listing 500 variations of their design tiresome to sift through. I really think they need a better system as I am sure there are some amazing things on there you can just never find. Love that fan, but $7,800 is ridiculous.
@Dana_C_83 and @Sandy415, have you tried using the minus symbol in your search? For example, when I search for vintage jewelry I will search for things like:
vintage rhinestone jewelry -blue -plastic
(If I don't want any blue or plastic jewelry included in the search).
Hope that helps!
Hey, thanks for appreciating our work (point 4)!! We can certainly let you know how to build one yourself, just let us know. Toby and Nishma
