Kids design has come a long way. So far, in fact, that it's no longer confined to children's rooms. Here are ten items we think can be appreciated by anyone, whether or not there are kids in the picture. And, look, not an owl in sight.
Of course, you'll want to carefully check the measurements of any kids furniture you purchase. Many desks and dressers designed for children's rooms have measurements equivalent to adult furniture. Some are a few inches shorter which may work fine for average or short adults. The Milo table (no. 5 above) is, of course, too small for adults to sit at (comfortably), but don't you think it makes a funky coffee table?

OMG- Those butterflies would make a wonderful gift for the (vegan) preschool teacher we have. Actually, I love everything posted here.
Is this a problem on my end or are the sources not listed for these items? Thanks!
Ok. Now I see all but that last one (the one I was drawn to first, of course). Where are the three poufs from? :)
I want those poufs too! I'm squinting my eyes out trying to decipher what's written on the ribbon tying them together, but so far no luck...
WHERE is the sheepskin chair from?!?! PB Teen too?
Yep, mamaholt, looks like the chair is from PB Teen. I love it.

The poufs are from BlaBla. I have two kiddos so I recognize that logo on the ribbon!
YAY! Thanks cearuilin!
Ps. I bought this table from restoration hardware baby & child. It's now on sale, btw. We use it as our coffee table and it's fantastic. Funky and tons of storage. It's a little low but it works great in our space.

Oh, and for those of you jonesing for those "gift tag" banners, I found some blanks here:

THANKS, Alanbean! for the chair link.
The first table, the play table is only 24" high - it's perfect for a coffee table and with the big drawer in it, you'll always know where the remote is left at night!
MAMAHOLT - Thank you.
sadly, I always want things from kid's stores, even if inappropriate.
I added a wooden Dwell elephant clock to my wedding registry and plenty of people remarked "oooh, baby things already??" It hadn't even occurred to me that it would give them that impression, I just wanted it for myself!
Where can I find the "bicycle lamp" in the second to last photo?? The perfect wedding gift for my twin brother!! :)
I covet that union jack ottoman!
Hey KRKSCHMCHR, you can find that lamp here at PBteen. It's on sale for $49.99.

Last year, I abandoned my flimsy, deteriorating Anthro bedding for the Priti Patchwork quilt from Land of Nod. I'd always wanted a quilt made with Indian fabrics. I've paired it with mid-century teak so it doesn't look so little-girly.
I'm always adding "kid" stuff to my home. I think every house needs a bit of whimsy/quirk/imagination to keep it from looking too stuffy or serious. I was so glad when Circo fianlly started making full size bedsheets, so at least the guest room can have cool sheets, now if they'd just up it to Queen I'd be set :)
My favorite item in my bedroom is definitely this piggy bank: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/outlet/outlet/polka-dot-piggy-bank/s630694
I bought it at a C&B outlet, and I remember being surprised when I looked it up online and saw that most of the reviews mentioned buying it as a present for a kid. That never even occurred to me! I just thought it was a fun way to add some color to my room. I'm loving the ideas in this post too.
Guys, click on the pic, & it will embiggen it & show source + link.
Embiggen? I hope you wrote that on purpose and if so, it's hilarious.
