The summer is wrapping up and so is my trip to the beach. We’ve shared doors, restaurant walls, a dilapidated house, but I you leave with 10 things I'll miss about my home away from home in Provincetown.
• 1 The view, if I lived here I’d never own curtains
• 2 My afternoon blogging spot
• 3 A screen door in weathered orange (that should be an actual color)
• 4 The abundant use of beach wood
• 5 Wacky beach décor - whatever!
• 6 Storing suntan lotion next to condiments
• 7 The laundry room
• 8 One rusty beach fan
• 9 The bedside copy of Shelly Winters’ biography: “Shelley: Also known as Shirley”
• 10 And finally, the neighbors

I love that house! I took a picture of it last time I was in P-town.
If I summered there, I'd miss eating at Mews Cafe any chance I had...
We're not leaving ours til Nov 30 (or the first snowstorm over 6").

I empathize with you. I love the lower Cape: Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and, yes, Provincetown.
The last time I was there, it was late spring, during an unseasonably warm few days. I was walking on one of the P-town beaches with my dog, Nelson. He, as usual, was running ahead of me, and before I knew it, he was swimming energetically toward the open sea, like a dog possessed! (He's really a chow hound, so my guess is that he was swimming toward a mirage of a side of beef.)
Fortunately, I was able to get his attention by calling his name and then running madly away from the shoreline. That must have snapped him out of his reverie, because he turned around and headed for shore.
What I miss about the Cape is the ocean—the sound of the waves, going down to the beach to watch the sunset, walking in the sand, looking for shells and interesting rocks, the smell of the salt air, how happy Nelson is when he's frolicking in the waves.
cute post! I'm so sad summer is coming to an end!
