You know that feeling you get when you see a home that's completely different from your own decorating style, but you fall in love with it anyway? It's like opening a window in a stuffy room and breathing some fresh, cool air. That's how we felt when we saw Beth's house tour. We love this bedroom and, although we probably won't ever have this much color anywhere in our own home (we're big fans of neutrals), we've collected a lot of ideas from Beth's eclectic style...

- The photograph over the bed looks like a small window into another world.
- The mismatched bedside tables have a lot of character and charm.
- The focal point is the bedspread, which centers the room's vibrant colors.
- The Pottery Barn rug at the foot of the bed incorporates color into the floor.
- The blue walls are a bright, but soothing counterpoint to the rest of the room.
- Natural elements appear in the photographs and wood details (like the breadbowl).
- The view outside the bedroom window looks gorgeous.
- The yellow corner chair is a bold accent (also a great spot to throw extra pillows).
- Details like the painted door on the nightstand incorporate subtle patterns.
- Although there's a lot of color in the room, it feels tied together. Each color shows up in at least 2 places (red-orange in the bedspread and rug, yellow in the pillows and chair, blue in the walls and curtains).

awesome room.
I absolutely love that quilt, but yes it would match nothing I own. It almost makes me to change my bedroom to match though.
Great colors. Makes me feel awake.
where, where, where is that quilt from. i am totally coveting it right now!
So very cheerful, without being cutesy!
I'm in love with this house tour. I think I had an interior design orgasm when I saw it the first time.
I would add to the above list that it clearly reflects her personality. No "safe" bed-in-a-bag neutrals for Beth.
Little too much color for me - wouldn't be able to get sleep from the brightness of colors - LOL. I'd go with a plainer duvet and let the throw pillows and art tell the story.
I don't understand the green plastic chair next to the nice white one - shouldn't it be one or the other?
I love how this room says: "find relaxation within, the world's distractions need not apply". This room is cheerful, happy, and calming all at the same time.
I think my favorite part is the mismatched chairs in the corner! Some how I think they work together.

I can't believe how she got all those patterns and colors to work together. It look great and I love that quilt!!
In the words of Liz Lemon: "I want to go to there."
I adore this room
I like it too -- but LOVE how you break down what works about the room (for novices like me). Please do this more often!! :o)
Wow - I guess I understand now why half the people on this site seem crazy.
I, too, would love to know where she got the quilt... I have been looking for a bright quilt like that for some time.....
It is the Bell Hothouse quilt from Anthropologie.
