When you think of a community that has faced the full spectrum of economic ups and downs, Detroit has to be near the top of the list. One artist has taken to photographing abandonment in Detroit. What has happened to Detroit is beyond sorrowful. This could easily have been one of the finest cities in America. Instead, historic landmarks are wasting away and treasures like the Mies van der Rohe Residential District and the many Isamu Noguchi contributions are virtually ignored by the design world at large.
Truly a shame.
