15 Green Gifts Under $50

This year Re-Nest featured a great collection of eco-friendly designers, so we decided to focus our gift roundup to them, and yes, you can get designer gifts for under $50. We've also thrown in a few of the affordable classic green goods to round out our favorite gifts for 2010.

TOP ROW:

1 Gold Paper Bowls by up in the air somewhere, $24: up in the air somewhere makes the most gorgeous housewares — we've been lusting after them all year, and they're sure to make an impression on anyone on your gift list. Of everything in their collection, their gold leafed papier-mâché bowls makes the biggest statement with a delicate form and gilded interior.
2 State Shaped Cutting Boards by A.Heirloom, $40: One of our favorite finds of the year! These cutting boards are made out of bamboo, carved in your favorite state's shape, and a heart is engraved on the city of your choice.
3 Felt Modern Doily by PLYtextiles, $42: PLYtextiles makes geometric homegoods out of recycled sweaters — this runner would made a great addition to anyone's dining decor.
4 Morning Glory Apron by Schoolyard Studio, $42: This apron is made of eco-friendly hemp and cotton twill — it's bright pattern and large front pocket would inspire anyone to work in their kitchen (or garden!).
5 Navajo Quilt Pillow by SHAPES&COLORS, $36: Picking a favorite pillow from this textile company was a hard choice — they're all so interestingly graphic, bright and colorful. We eventually settled on this one as our favorite, but you'd be missing out if you didn't explore all of SHAPES&COLORS's collection.

MIDDLE ROW:
6 Wide Insulated Bottle by Klean Kanteen, $32: This was one of the best gifts we received last year — they keep your beverage piping hot (or cold) longer than you could ever imagine, and are leak-proof to boot.
7 Hanging Air Plant Pod by MudPuppy, $32: We've got a soft spot for airplants, and these pods would be fun alternative to a standard plant pot.
8 Seahorses Espresso Set by Louche Lab, $50.00: Louche Lab makes the most interesting decorative ceramics — all painted by hand! Get your caffeine lover energized with this bright and colorful one-of-a-kind espresso set.
9 Felt Placemats at Canvas, $19.95: These hand-craft, hand-felted wool placemats are perfect for cold weather entertaining. They were made in Nepal by skilled artisans, and come in eight different color combinations.
10 The Story of Stuff: How Our Obsession with Stuff Is Trashing the Planet, Our Communities, and Our Health-and a Vision for Change by Annie Leonard, $26: Avoid the tchotchke, and instead give this inspiring book that examines conspicuous consumption and its human and environmental costs.
