Q: Hello everyone at Apartment Therapy! I was wondering if you or your readers could please tell me anything about my recent craigslist find; 2 leather chairs with chrome and wood (rosewood?) and a matching coffee table. There are no tags or markings. The lady I bought them from said her parents bought them in the 60's. Any ideas?

They look like Odd Knudsen's Luna chair, but I've never seen the bases like this (usually made of wood only).
They look like are part of the Percival brazillian family to me. :)
Percival Lafer *** who is brazillian
They are so ugly that whoever designed them probably doesn't want anyone to know that they were theirs. They look like a really terrible rendition of late 60's contemporary meets Sergio Rodriquez. Not a good mix. All of the proportions are off and the mix of materials is a hot mess. I hope this person paid $25 bucks a chair.
Kjansson, that was rude. If the buyer loves them then it doesn't matter what they paid for them. I know I have furniture that people don't like, but I don't care.
Wow kjansson! Could you be any more hateful?
The seats look like knudsen, but the bases...I've got no idea.
Sergio Rodriguez sorry for the misspelling! and actually I didn't say this, my furniture guru friend did. I copied this question to him saying alright Mr. Furniture, name this chair and this was his response!!!
Thought kjansson's response was hilarious!
Whoever designed them, I think they're a splendid example of 1970's Brazilian decor - I like them alot, not only for their provenance but that they're so unlike anything that we see in stores and catalogs today.
they look like an older version of plummer's luna chair: http://www.plummersfurniture.com/home_living_accentchairs/item/1863
"they look like an older version of plummer's luna chair" LOL... and no one comments on this? This is a bigger insult than that comment by kljansson. BRAVO Apt.Ther.
Dena, I'm disappointed for you about these insults. No idea about the chairs but they look very cool.
i don't know for sure...but, i agree, i think they look like brazilian percival lafer chairs.
btw. i like them. very cool.
If the above suggestions don't pan out, designaddict.com has a pretty decent forum full of members who might know more about your awesome chairs.
btw: nice score!
Those are so neat! Very cool.
"Do I have to pull this car over?" Be nice or we'll send these chairs to you! OK - I couldn't resist!
Very nice find!
kjansson, are you always this hateful or just having a really bad day? Shame on you
AT readers have been chugging the haterade, I see. Well, I thnk it's a neat find and hope you enjoy them.
@in your head
So what's the story with plummer?
I'm trying to decide if I like them or not... I do think I'd separate the table from the chairs (in the same room) because together they seem kind of like design-overload. Some contrasting lines in a table might make them feel more distinctive. They look comfortable!
I really didn't mean it as an insult when giving the Plummers link... we have some pieces from Plummers ourselves! Don't the chairs in question look like the one they are selling as "Luna"?
