Why I use color:
Color is the easy way to enhance the mood of the home's dwellers and as a trend, you can switch 'em as often as you want. Color can put you in a good mood, focus to get the work done or relax you to rest. Our kitchen is a blend of a 2 tone green cabinets with a wall in burnt orange where we have the eat-in section.
2 Good color tips:
1. No matter how well you put the masking tape, paint will bleed to the part that it wasn't supposed to. To avoid this, put your tape and paint the edge with a clear matte lacquer. after it dries, paint as you always do. The line will be straight.
2. Another color tip, will be before you paint a big wall, buy a piece of plywood (2' x 2") and paint it with the color you want. After it dries, expose it to different sources of lights so you can get a glimpse of what the wall is going to look after you paint it and avoid surprises.
2 good color resources:
1. Any magazine (dwell, met-home, domino, metropolis) and even catalogs so you can get inspired and see how the real color will look next to certain shades of furniture.
2. Another will be the computer. Snap a digital pic off the area you want to paint and using photoshop digitally paint the color you have in mind and see a preview of the finished project.
