We don't know the stories behind these two bathrooms, but they're designed in such a way that you're sure they have a history. The bathroom pictured up top is orderly, organized and functional. But it also has signs of age, meaning, and maybe even a little mysticism...

This tidy-but-imperfect bathroom in Blake Dollahite's house also looks like it has some interesting stories to tell. It's evident that the medicine cabinet, vanity, and blue sink weren't simply bought off the shelf and the pieces make you want to know more.
Do you create vignettes within your home? Do they tell a story and perform a function? Both of these small bathroom sink areas inspire us to create more vignettes in our own place. Top photo: Julian Wass

What does this bathroom vignette say about me?

The blue sink made me think of my grandma and smile... thank you.
I love how cozy these two rooms feel. They have really made those tiny sinks work for the space!
Actually, I kind of strive for vignettes in every room -- that's a big part of what "interior decoration" IS, in my view. It gives something planned and beautiful (one hopes) to enjoy in every space.
