While strolling through our local bulk big box retailer we happened upon this killer camp stove with oven. Although it's not replacing our daily appliances indoors, we think it's a great addition to your home for emergencies or natural disasters. Care to guess it's retail price?
We take being prepared for basic needs and having a back supply of food seriously. Even though it might seem silly to some to think about being without power or having to prepare food somewhere other than your regular kitchen, we've been in the predicament more than once where this bad boy would have come in handy. We're not expecting earthquakes like the rest of the world seems to be plagued with lately, but we do live in Tornado Alley and just like the Boy Scouts — we're always prepared.
Likewise, If you happen to be planning a family vacation across the country and would like to do a little more cooking than your basic hot plate provides, we think this could be a great add on. It's probably not the best idea for a weekend backpacking get away, but you get the idea.
Is this over the top? Or do you think you could put it to use? Let us know below!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Uh Oh. Turned my husband on to AT in time to see this? Will be making room in the "camping cupboard" for this, I think.
Could definitely put that to some serious use.. we don't do "light camping" anyways.
I kinda love it. We're big campers, but since most of my cooking talents require an oven, I never really know what to make when camping. Problem solved!
in a place that does not allow camp fires this would be an amazing thing to have!
I don't understand...is it powered off of an external gas tank?
Wouldn't using that indoors be a huge carbon monoxide poisoning risk? Most camping stoves aren't recommended for indoor use.
I could definitely see myself using this. I plan to go camping for the first time and I am not one to eat lightly.
@Meganly, my thoughts exactly.
But even if the power is out, you can still go outside to cook. Beats the pants off of cold food, especially if the outage lasts longer than a day or so.
My husband and I don't camp, but I can see us putting this to use in the summer when we try to cook more outside (we don't have AC). We aren't into bbq'ing. It's very tempting!
I do a lot of camping and could not imagine lugging that around on trips. I use a couple of these types of stoves and have them in the emergency bin.

are you supposed to bake while camping? shouldn't you bring your baked goods with?
@Tiamat_the_Red
Besides that - if you have a gas stove, that isn't affected by the power being out. A box of matches solves the ignition problem!
it kind of has tailgating written all over it
I'll guess... one dollar, Bob!
Wow, I wonder if this beauty could be fitted and used safely inside an RV! It would look awesome in my kitchen and cost a lot less than a new RV range. Sure, it only has two burners, but my current range only has three and I never use all three at the same time. The oven in this thing also looks no smaller than my current oven.
Gotta have it. Nothing better than car camping and eating gourmet. Mind you we cooked all our meals on the fire last year. But...this would rock. My Mom may even camp if we had this. Then again...that won't be the reason I'll use to sell this to my hubby....
I love it - my sister just bought one and I can't wait to try it out.
Nicely done! If I doing a gut rehab of an old Airstream trailer, this would be a great space-saving appliance... and it'd go well with the whole shiny twinkie thing, to boot.
I don't know what it runs on, but I'd definitely want to convert it to run on propane - as the hot water heater, fridge and rest of the appliances do.
When thinking about living through a kitchen reno, this makes sense. Maybe I'm the only one?
We are about to move into our new home sans kitchen (we are doing a gut reno)! I second Heather THIS IS PERFECT.
I'm on the fence about this. Most of the time, we camp very lightly with a backpacking stove. But once a year, we head to a large campground and erect a small city around a fire pit and a beer tent, circled by a dozen or so tiki torches. My friend custom-built a battery array inside a cooler so that we could blast a blasphemous mix of industrial metal and country music 24/7. Tent heaters are involved. Pirate hats and water cannons are involved. But the whole purpose of that trip is to drink heavily for about four days, say things like, "I told you to put your head through the flap if you had to hurl," and then sheepishly return to responsible society. My problem is I can't see an oven applying to either situation.
I know it's been said but I'll mention it again. Outside.
I am the moron who set off the smoke alarm in the middle of winter (at 2 a.m---I worked late ok!) by trying to BBQ with a gas grill in the house. Hey! The chicken was probably on it's way out if I didn't cook it up. Thank God the battery was in the alarm. It saved my family the expense of a funeral and embarassment of explaining how dumb I was (am?).
Bredlo - I'm 99% positive it already runs on propane, though I'm guessing it would still need some slight modifications.
This camp stove looks great! I just know my husband would love it. He actually likes to do the cooking whenever we go camping. I guess it's a "man's job" out in the wilderness to provide food. I bet if I got him this for Valentines day, he would feel obligated to get me something nice too, maybe that pair of silk underwear that I have had my eye on.
Wow! I thought I had an impressive collection of camping gear but that is...awesome! I don't think i'll add it to my outdoor gear though, since it doesnt look like it will fit into my backpack. I have been able to get some pretty nice camping equipment at Patriot Provisions.
