Location: Portland, Oregon
A/V or Home Office: Both!
Favorite Source: CNET is where I go to figure out if a product I need has even been invented! About.com can be a useful site - it is where I found out about ORB AUDIO.
What inspired you? Tech gadgets should be useful but hidden. In the living room is a ROKU Soundbridge that streams music from my desktop to the stereo. The speaker are from ORB AUDIO and were selected for their small profile and the great reviews I read. The media cabinet (Soorikian Furniture) houses a receiver, dvd player and a center channel speaker. The cut-outs allow me to use the remote controls through the doors.
I have a small (5x7) room within my 900sf 1-bdrm apartment. It's a cozy office/library that allows me to geek-out (CPU, scanner, burner, monitor, wifi, printer, phone) without having wires, screens and blinky lights visible from the rest of my home.
Great Tip: Research and measure everything. The perfect product maybe out there – but it has to fit!!!

Neat and clean. I love the A/V cabinet. But I want capital C-O-O-L! Let's see some really innovative solutions and installations!
Having your center channel inside that cabinet is probably a little detrimental to the sound as the wooden grates are blocking it.
Also, have you never had an issue with the Roku Soundbridge bouncing off the subwoofer?
Doesn't having the TV in front of the window create a bad glare/lighting situation? If it's sunny outside and you're looking straight at the window/tv, I would imagine your eyes/corneas close up and you can barely see the tv.
I know it's the tech snob in me, but I just can't geek out to any AV setup with a low-def CRT in it...
Mostly I just love my cozy little office space that is hidden from the rest of the world.
As for the TV - I never watch it. I'm more of a music fiend. I've seriously considered getting rid of the TV - except I like watching movies (at night when glare isn't an issue). It's more of an Audio setup and not so much a Visual setup.
The ROKU has never bounced off the subwoofer. And I do turn my music up LOUD.
I don't really see anything here that spells COOL, although the cut out doors are a nice touch.
