2 Steps to Safer Toys, Gear, and Clothing

BPA-free, phthalate-free...sound familiar? Sure- everyone wants safer toys and gear these days, but it's actually simpler than you think to get there:

We all know that once you're pregnant, it begins: the research and the registering for and acquiring of "stuff" for your new baby and your new life as a parent. We were expecting some sort of cleaning tips when we opened up this article at Healthy Child, Healthy World, so we were a bit caught off guard, but grateful for this reminder:

"For one, buy less. For another, buy better: Introduce less stuff that might inadvertently compromise your children's development or physical health. Before you shop, ask yourself why you're getting something. Is it wanted? Needed? Or has a marketer convinced your child that he or she really wants and needs it?"

This is such great advice. A little self-control and less impulse buys will go a long way in creating a safer, better home.
