Name: The Crew Tag Boys
Location: Chicago
Type: One bedroom condo, owned
Why I use color:"We are constantly inspired by our surroundings and are drawn to the color of the changing light. We try to use colors to inject emotions into our environment based on our beliefs of Feng Shui. With large windows and lots of light, we continually find new ways to use color to the balance energy in our condo. "
2 Good color tips:
"Color is relative to the light that reflects off it. Take advantage of the light changes throughout the day when selecting paint or accessory. The same color can change character throughout the day."
"Instead of buying wallpaper, paint your own! It was very intimidating when we set out to paint the striped wall. A life saving investment under ten dollars was a laser light level from the local hardware store."
Favorite type and brand of paint:"Ultra high gloss enamel paint from Benjamin Moore."

Now we're cooking with gas! Lovely!! The painted striped wall is amazing! Your home is so inviting and colorful and fun. Feng Shui really works! You've made me a believer.
I really love all of it, except the last picture. The first picture with all those big windows is stunning. Good luck with the contest!
Wow. You truly deserve to win. Very bold. Very wonderful.
I was worried about this contest for a minute. No one was really "Wow"-ing me with their entries.
i LOVE the color in this apartment and am jealous of all your natural light! the couches seem weird to me. like, they just look kinda uncomfortable being there...and the stacked pillows...??
Fantastic home. I'm curious how you manage on a hot summer's day with all those lovely windows and no blinds or curtains? Doesn't it get roasty?
Ab Fab!
Absolutely stunning. I love the color, and the striped wall. Wish this condo was mine!!!!
i am so jealous right now! how is it that you have both of the chairs I have been longing for?!
the louis ghost chairs at the dining table-LOVE.THEM.
and the orange chair-please tell me where to find!
Great Space!
Great space. I, for one, get a great feeling from the picture of the bedroom corner--the natural linens and draperies look luscious, and the green circle of lamplight in the darkness--great atmosphere!
Do you have window treatments?
Thanks for all of your nice comments viewers!
The Sake couch (the white one) is so comfortable it's hard to get out of. Mini-blinds only get lowered when absolutely necessary. Thank goodness for very strong AC! TV and computer screens can be a little difficult to see during late afternoons though.
If you look closely, there are blinds, but they are kept pulled up in the top picture.
What I love about this place is the choice to use color sparingly and using what looks like a dark gray, or a charcoal gray for some walls, others kept white and letting the furnishings add the necessary color to the room.
I also love the occasional wall done in say orange (kitchen, the stripped wall are all cool. the place has almost that 70's mod feel to it. Very nice indeed
Beautiful place! Love the striped wall. THIS is what I would love to have my home look like!
Truly awesome. I love love LOVE the green in the bedroom. And yay for big windows. Excellent and very well put-together. (I think you should leave and let me move in! Pleeeeeease!)
Love it!
love the green bedroom!
I adore this one! What paint brand and color did you use for the slate / grey / green wall adjacent to the stripes and the orange kitchen?
FINALLY!
I predict the winner will feature orange and this might the one.
My favorite! (And not just b/c I have the same couch, whew!)
You have Bottoni! I love my Bottoni. That charcoal gray is so nice.
oooh i heart so much the striped wall. lovely! and i imagine so time consuming getting those lines perfect! hats off to you.
i love also in the 4th photo we see a dark wall and a light wall. i think that's such key when playing with color. there's a good balance there.
good eye!
Needs a few kids or a dog. Could you come do my house next?
Stunnning, very clean lines and clutter free. Hope you win!
I LOVE all of it...from the really expensive DWR furnishings and Philippe Starck ghost chairs to the very affordable CB2 hanging tealight holders.
The colors are great. I love the green bedroom! The accent wall colors are not overbearing. They do a perfect job of being "accent walls." Wonderful apartment.
Thumbs up! Way up!
Fabulous job. Insta-Finalist for sure. That clear dining set (clear all the way up to the Artemis) is inspiring. The space is defined but not confined, variation on the theme...hot. I would push it even farther and lose the wood bowl and go for more clear stuff as a centerpiece. Use different textures of clear, maybe some really old glass? I don't know.
Fearless use of color though, and in the most effective ways, bravo!
We have a winner!
Your place looks fabulous guys..love love love the colorful wall. Definitely a winner !
I want to move in.
That striped wall makes me so happy.
Oh..... this is absolutely beautiful! This should win too! I'm glad all I have to do is vote. May the best one win!
very peppy yet chic.
Instant finalist !
Love the stripe and the colors,
got the same taste for the furniture,
i need too learn more about Feng Shui for my new home..
Fantastic - that striped wall must have taken forever, but it was worth it because it looks great!
I hope Kate (NC) is right about orange!
Smile, that was incredibly harsh. Whether you like the style or not, this is someone's roastiness.
Crew tag boys, thank you for the beauty and the inspiration. Really amazing place: familiar but elegant, cool but cozy.. great.
Bedroom is very romantic and cozy. The rest of the house looks unlived in,
Lovely space. I would prefer a calmer orange and green. Very nicely done.
Great eye!!! 0_0
I have one word for you: RAD!
...oh and one more thing...holy "inviting" bedroom, batman! Grrrooowwwl! Lovely place. Instafinalist from me.
