Why I use color:"We are constantly inspired by our surroundings and are drawn to the color of the changing light. We try to use colors to inject emotions into our environment based on our beliefs of Feng Shui. With large windows and lots of light, we continually find new ways to use color to the balance energy in our condo. "

2 Good color tips:

"Color is relative to the light that reflects off it. Take advantage of the light changes throughout the day when selecting paint or accessory. The same color can change character throughout the day."

"Instead of buying wallpaper, paint your own! It was very intimidating when we set out to paint the striped wall. A life saving investment under ten dollars was a laser light level from the local hardware store."

Favorite type and brand of paint:"Ultra high gloss enamel paint from Benjamin Moore."

Great Space!

Great space. I, for one, get a great feeling from the picture of the bedroom corner--the natural linens and draperies look luscious, and the green circle of lamplight in the darkness--great atmosphere!

The Sake couch (the white one) is so comfortable it's hard to get out of. Mini-blinds only get lowered when absolutely necessary. Thank goodness for very strong AC! TV and computer screens can be a little difficult to see during late afternoons though.

If you look closely, there are blinds, but they are kept pulled up in the top picture.

What I love about this place is the choice to use color sparingly and using what looks like a dark gray, or a charcoal gray for some walls, others kept white and letting the furnishings add the necessary color to the room.

I also love the occasional wall done in say orange (kitchen, the stripped wall are all cool. the place has almost that 70's mod feel to it. Very nice indeed

i love also in the 4th photo we see a dark wall and a light wall. i think that's such key when playing with color. there's a good balance there.

The colors are great. I love the green bedroom! The accent wall colors are not overbearing. They do a perfect job of being "accent walls." Wonderful apartment.

Fabulous job. Insta-Finalist for sure. That clear dining set (clear all the way up to the Artemis) is inspiring. The space is defined but not confined, variation on the theme...hot. I would push it even farther and lose the wood bowl and go for more clear stuff as a centerpiece. Use different textures of clear, maybe some really old glass? I don't know.

Fearless use of color though, and in the most effective ways, bravo!
