The Judges like this house because it “exudes a rich, truly delicious colour palette” and “the selection of colours reflects a confidence and a maturity of design ability”. We like that the neutral colour palette enhances the architectural structure of the building and we love the variety of textures through out the house. I love the contrast of wood in relations to the concrete, the way the shadow is bent on the curved surfaces. The 2nd photo of the entrance also make it looks like I am stairing at the celing. Amazing space.

GregorSamsa - most likely there are lots of built in and cabinets to conceal everything. Less about exposed stuff more about lines and shapes.
This is so beautiful, love the sculptural interior architecture contrasting with all the natural wood in med-light tones. That sectional looks like heaven.

As someone else has said, the books might be concealed behind cabinet doors, or the people who live here might simply have an electronic book. :)
Example: as an artist, I collect beautiful books for inspiration and reference, such as books about nature, gardening, field guides, and things with lots of pictures for me to be inspired by. But I do all of my novel-reading on my eBook device. It just means just don't have bookcases and bookcases and bookcases worth of novels sitting around. Just because most of the books in my display have pictures, doesn't mean I'm not a reader of literature. :)
Also, sometimes people collect books just to show them off, and not actually read a single page. What's better?

I think it was Mies van der Rohe who once said that any interior design that could not incorporate books was innately boring at best and frightening at worst.
This is a modern place, you're not meant to see books everywhere. I personally can't stand bookshelves covered head to toe. Other than cookbooks and a few others meant for reference I don't like to just keep them around. If you read it...well then it's over. You know the story. Why collect more stuff? I understand the appeal but I don't thing that a decorator is less than if they don't bow to your taste. If you like seeing books, show them off, if not, don't. End of story.
